Unlike mainstream Christianity, Gnosticism does not seek salvation by faith and grace in a dying saviour. Like Buddhism, Gnostic Christianity seeks salvation through inner illumination. Yeshu (Jesus) and other Buddhas of Gnosticism, like Buddha and Bodhisattvas in Buddhism,  help humankind achieve enlightenment for themselves. Gnosticism is a psychological religion of the mind.
