The Order of Nazorean Essenes considers itself a Buddhist branch of original Christianity, or a Christian branch of original Buddhism - whichever one prefers most. The form of Buddhism espoused by our Order is not mainstream Buddhism, however. Buddhism is a very old religion which even predates the "Buddha", at least the one called Shakyamuni (Siddhartha Guatama) so revered by modern Buddhists. Nazoreans believe Shakyamuni only watered down Jainism, which itself was a watered down version of the ancient Bonpo faith. Yungdrung Bon is the only Bon accepted by Nazorean Gnostics. Shamanistic Bon, and later New Bon are both rejected as being out of harmony with the ancient stream of pure gnosis.
